I. Beyond the Wall of Sleep

INTRO

Retour en haut

II. Nightly Visions

Wherefore those ghastly visions that assail me
And rob me of my well-earned sleep?

Silent cries bellowing from torn open throats,
Deafening sighs from myriads of slain innocents.

Begone! Trouble me no more!
Senseless shadows of utter nothingness!

I want to sink into a pool of oblivion,
I wish to drown in a sea of forgetfulness.

Stand aside and make way for I shall
Go on my way and put an end to this already decaying and dying world.

III. The Dark Host

Thither ye stand Namwell,
Ere long ye shall plead for all your worthless lives.
On we march, on we fight, No one
Shall stay the hand that wields the sword & the axe.

Fell foes
Spill blood

No one shall escape. None shall survive this fierce affray.
Tonight shall we revel in the gore of our enemies.

Fell foes
Spill blood

No pity, no mercy shall burden our ruthless minds
We shall slay our foes till the last shall kneel
& with pleading eyen beg for our swords to shorten
An agony that shall harry them for evermore.

Victory is at hand, crushed is the enemy that lies in pools of blood.

Felled foes
Spilt blood.

No one hath escaped. None hath survived this fierce affray
Now revel we in the gore of our enemies.

Felled foes
Spilt blood.

IV. The Gift

'Come to me now,
Hear my counsel.
Come to my stronghold.

There lieth a gift
For thee. Thou shalt see
What is in wait'

Swift as the noisome wind of death,
Lord Shades now enters this most dreadful place
The palace of the Dark Lord, the foul place
Where nameless deeds are done in dark dungeons,
Where the souls of innocent beings are twisted
Torn & warped, thralls to the will of he
Whose murky mind bears no bound in infamy.

'Thou hast served me well Lord Shades,
Thankless shalt thou not be;
Witness to my might shalt thou stand before me.
Here lieth the body of one thou once knew
Harmless this being remains but not for long:
Soon it shall host a grim soul bent to my will.'

'Evil spirits enter this
Innocent soul. Tear it, skew it,
Turn it now to evil deeds
All good begone from it.'

'Evil spirits enter this
Innocent soul. Tear it, skew it,
Turn it now to evil deeds
All good begone from it.'

'Enter evil spirits and seize
This blameless soul.
Thou wilt be mine!'

Ghosts and shades revolve round this hapless shape,
bound to rape it, scrape all trace of goodness

'Evil spirits enter this
Innocent soul.
Turn it now to evil deeds
All good begone,

'Evil spirits enter this
Innocent soul. Tear it, skew it,
Turn it now to evil deeds
All good is gone from it.'

"Now let us lie this lifeless body down & bind it tight to the stone table. Let us apply those steel plates to the temples, stick these needles into the ears, inject the potion and count to thirteen. Let us pull this lever while summoning the fiends of the three seas and the seven caves, and walk round the body thrice. Thus shall this being be held in bondage to the will of he that commandeth the shadows of the night."

'Tis done

'Now thou art mine to serve me and the
Captain of my army. Now shall I conquer the whole world.'

V. Woe to Thee (Vae Solis)

Shadows from the past haunt lord Shade's mind
Half images of an erased past:
Long fair hair floating in the soft breeze,
Smiling eyes and fleshy kissing lips.

From dark corners of his memory
Flow forth waves of forgotten joys and pains.

...joys and pains...

"My dear beloved remember the days when
The flowers were in bloom
Water flowed in the ever crystal-clear fountains
An ever new morn."

Ploratus personant
Inanes per vasta

'Away! Stop harrying me! Leave my wretched soul alone!
Vae Solis my love Alas!
Whither are those days gone? Lost? Forever lost?

'Away! Stop harrying me! Leave my wretched soul alone!
Vae Solis my love Alas!
Whither are those days gone? Lost? Forever lost?

'Rid from these ghosts of the past must I
And move forward on the road to destruction.

Why be stayed by shadows?
Only what is to come counts.

Rid from these ghosts of the past must I
And move forward on the road to destruction.'

'Side by side my companion we shall scourge
The world and erase all goodness from it.'
So be it my love, woe to us, woe to us.

VI. The Revenge of Namwell

The Army of Meldral-Nok
Is on the march to Namwell,
Bent on putting an end to this
Endless festering war at last.

Unbroken lines of seasoned warriors,
Every one armed to the teeth,
Seasoned to bloody slaughters
Marching to the blessed lands.

Relentlessly tramping to
The sound of steel against steel,
The dark host treads through a
Forest where shadows lie in wait.

'Men of the rearguard hearken
To the clash of weapons.
'Tis the vanguard that is
Fouly attacked. An ambush!

Seize your spear!
Wield your sword'

'I know this army, it was mine own once.
Isn't it Namwell claiming its due at long last?'

'Whither art thou mine sword, my trusted steely friend?
Dearly shall I buy my cursed & wretched life.'

Ardentes acies ad tenebras
Atros servos incendite, ira sacra excitet
Splendeatque cruor malus adamantis nitore

...my sword!

Lord Shades thrust himself into the heart of the fray
Heedless of blows, bent on quenching the soil's thirst for blood.

Heads hewn, skulls split open, crazed by the smell of gore,
Lord shades reaps foes like ripe crimson corn.

Yet led astray by despair and hatred Lord Shades
Finds himself encirled alone amidst foes,
Alone, alone, alone, so alone.

Naked and bound to a table of stone
Lies Lord Shades lifeless, pale and cold
The desert wind blows & gyres around him Like a fiend.

There chants a man whose shape is lost among the dead trees.
Calling the spirits of the sands the old man dances and drones on.

The sorcerer strives to rid lord Shades
Of the dark mark that smears his soul
And awaken him to a new dawn, Whither he shall,

Live and redeem, Evil that he sowed.
Calling the spirits of the sands the old man dances and drones on.

VIII. A New Dawn

I. The paths of war

Perit aetas, inferens novam
Iam eventura factis soluta

Sanguinem tempus est effundere
Expiandumque scelus noxiis

Come my Lord & we shall take arms & go
We shall rid this land of all evil.
Come my army come, we shall prevail
& this land shall live in peace again

Hiems nefaria, mox desitura
'Let us take arms and fight!
Nam ver inlustre nascetur orbe
Victory shall be ours!'

Forth, Forth, ride on, fear not death
For thou art the mighty army that shall
Bring fairness and justice anew
& this land shall live in peace again

II. Meldral-Nok's stronghold

Marmor horridum umbras objicit
Atra sedes crescet per caelum

Ululatque Mors angiportibus
Arcus nos devorant lugubres in nocte

Go forth, Storm this cursèd place, leave not a wall stand straight.
No foe withstand us, deep into the castle go we

Ululatque Mors angiportibus
Arcus nos devorant lugubres in nocte

Go forth, Storm this cursèd place, Leave not a wall stand straight!
No foe can withstand us, deep into the castle go we
Down to its rotten core, the steel throne room. Open the gates, Dark Lord, here we come!

III. Face to face

'How darest thee betray me, thy master?
Thou owest me thine strength, thine will, thine glory. How darest thou?
Thou shalt feel the mace of mine hatred, the blade of mine revenge and rue the day.'

IV. A struggle of minds

'So be it, I'll slay thee & then know peace at last
Thou shalt not stay this mighty arm bent on revenge.'

'Lord Shades, thou fool, learn the truth
About thy secret birth. Knowest thou who sired thee?
Thy mother gave thee life not out of nothingness
Know now I am thine father...'

Cursed fool! I have slain he who was my sire.
With thy last breath tell me who I really am!

'Unworthy son, never shall thee know what thy fate shall be.
This secret shall perish with me and be buried in thither ruins.
My son and heir...'

V. Epilogue

Hiems nefaria, mox desitura
Nam ver inlustre nascetur orbe

The Lord of Meldral-Nok is gone,
The veil of gloom hath passed, and now
A new day shall dawn on Firë-Enmek
The realm of Namwell shall spring from the ashes.

Perit aetas, inferens novam
Iam eventura factis soluta

Hiems nefaria, mox desitura
Meldral-Nok is vanquished
Nam ver inlustre nascetur orbe
Yet my fate is not sealed yet.

Take away sorrow and woe and sheathe your bloodstained sword
The Dark Lord is fallen and peace shall reign anew.
Deep inside my soul I know not peace I am still torn;
Soul, body asunder, shall I be whole again?
